Winter Carnival
Theme for this year: Winter in Las Vegas.
This year’s Winter Carnival week started off on Monday, February 15 and with the theme being Casino Day, where students would dress up as they would at a Casino in Las Vegas. There was also poker chip stacking in the cafeteria at lunch. Tuesday’s theme day was PJ day, where students got to wear their pyjamas to school. They also got to eat a free pancake breakfast in the morning before school, always a favorite for the students. Wednesday would have been Toga Day and Student vs. Teacher Basketball at lunch but unfortunately school was cancelled due to a snow storm. Impersonation day was Thursday where students dressed as their favorite stars from Las Vegas. To give the feel of being in Las Vegas one of our very own jazz combos, Sponge, played in the cafeteria at lunch. Thursday night was also the Semi-Formal dance. Friday’s theme day was Olympic day where students got to show their Canadian spirit and support their Canadian athletes competing at this year’s 2010 Olympic Games held in our own country. It also included an afternoon off where students could participate in games located in the gym, movies in the French pod; with both english and french options. Our main event for the day was in the theater where a very entertaining Hypnotist Show by Hypno-Harry was held. We were glad to see the many participants throughout the week’s theme days and activities.
