The Talon (committee)
The Talon is Northumberland Regional High School's student-run newspaper, an (almost) monthly publication which features student artwork, poetry and photography and articles reviewing school sporting events, fundraisers, activities and more. It also features regular colums such as Factacular Factoids, which features random humorous facts, Mathtastic, a challenging math problem for students to solve, and Ask Squawk, an advice column answered by our very own mascot, Squawk the Nighthawk!
Students and staff alike can log on to the school website (nrhs.ca, but you already knew that) and go under "The Talon". There, you will find a message box where you can type your question for Squawk. However, Squawk doesn't like bad words or innapropriate comments, so don't even bother to ask him questions that contain either. Squawk will answer as many of the questions as he possibly can (after all, he leads a very busy life) and they will be published in the next issue of The Talon.
The writers over at The Talon are always looking for a helping hand, so if you ever want to write an article, submit photographs, poetry or artwork, edit, print or anything else please email us at thetalon@nrhs.ca! Listen to the announcements for upcoming meeting dates, which are usually held on Thursdays at lunch in Mrs. Gosse's classroom (in the English pod). Don't forget to check out the latest issue (or whatever issue happens to be up) online under "The Talon" at nrhs.ca!
